Wool Week - 11-17 October 2010
Matt and Julia, from Cornish Organic Wool, will be in Savile Row, London on Monday 11th, October for the launch of "Wool Week". The Prince of Wales is spearheading the campaign to encourage manufacturers and consumers to buy and wear British wool instead of synthetic fibres.
Savile Row will be closed to traffic for the day and will be grassed over for a flock of sheep to roam!
Cornish Organic Wool has been buying organic wool from the Prince's Duchy farms for many years and from his own farm at Highgrove for the past two years. A range of garments, designed and knitted by Wendy Keith Designs, made from Cornish Organic Wool from Highgrove will be in the window of Norton & Sons in Savile Row.
During the day Julia will be demonstrating knitting a shooting stocking on 4 needles in Cornish Organic Wool, 4ply.
Should anybody want to come and see us at Norton's, we will be there from 11.30am for an hour and 2.30pm for an hour. We will also be available to meet outside these times - please contact us through the Cornish Organic Wool office - (01736) 350905 or email us at info@cornishorganicwool.co.uk.
